# Does your product need a CPSC certificate and eFiling?

## How the check works

0. Choose how to start: paste a public product page link, and we read the listing and pre-fill the answers, or answer the questions yourself. Nothing about the link is stored.
1. What kind of product (toys, baby and nursery, apparel, furniture, home, sport and ride-on, electrical and batteries).
2. Which of 62 product types is closest. Each maps to citation codes from CPSC's eFiling citation code list (December 2025).
3. For products that can be either, whether it is designed primarily for children 12 or under: a CPC with third-party testing, otherwise a GCC.
4. How the goods reach the US: freight and courier since 8 July 2026, international mail from 22 October 2026, Foreign Trade Zone from 8 January 2027. Domestic products are not eFiled.

## What the link check reads

When you paste a product page we fetch the page as any visitor would, then report five listing signals: age grading, a certificate or CFR/ASTM reference, manufacturer or country of origin, a batch or lot number, and a California Proposition 65 warning.
We also check whether any laboratory named on the page appears on CPSC's list of accepted third-party laboratories. A missing signal means we could not see it on that page; it is not a finding against the product.
